What this work actually involves
Most 3D models are built for screens. They look good in renders, pass through slicers without complaints, and then fail mid-print because nobody checked whether the geometry was actually solid. That's the gap we work in.
Preparing a model for printing means verifying manifold geometry, analyzing support requirements, adjusting tolerances for the specific material and process, and sometimes rebuilding sections that can't be fixed with automated tools. It's slower than running a repair script, and the results are noticeably different.
We work with FDM, resin, SLS, and metal sintering workflows. Each process has different constraints, and a model optimized for one won't necessarily translate to another without rework.
The people who do the work
Small team, specific skills. Everyone here has direct experience with at least one printing process, not just software knowledge.
Works on manifold errors, non-planar faces, and degenerate geometry. Has repaired models from automotive CAD exports that other tools flagged as unfixable.
Advises on material choice, layer strategy, and post-processing requirements. Particularly experienced with resin workflows and small-detail preservation.
Handles assemblies where parts need to fit together after printing. Adjusts clearances based on material shrinkage data and printer calibration specs.
Coordinates file intake, revision cycles, and delivery. Makes sure technical feedback reaches clients in plain language without losing the important details.
Addressed first. These block slicing entirely and are usually resolved with targeted repair rather than full rebuilds.
Thin walls that look fine on screen but will fail under print stress. Requires manual analysis per material and process type.
Quick wins that reduce print time and material use. Handled after structural issues are resolved.
Polygon reduction and detail preservation for specific resolution targets. Done last, only when the model's structure is confirmed sound.
HOW A FILE MOVES THROUGH OUR PROCESS
Send us your file in any common format — STL, OBJ, STEP, 3MF. We run an initial diagnostic within one business day and tell you what we found before any work begins.
You decide which issues to address. Some clients want a full preparation pass, others just need a specific problem fixed. Either way, you get a report alongside the prepared file so you understand what changed and why.
We accept STL, OBJ, STEP, 3MF, and most native CAD formats. Large assemblies can be sent as archives.
Automated scan followed by manual review. We flag mesh errors, thin walls, unsupported spans, and tolerance issues.
We fix what you've approved. Mesh repair, wall thickening, orientation adjustment, support optimization, and tolerance correction.
Prepared file plus a change log. You know exactly what was modified, and why each decision was made.
